It was one of the first delivered, highly desirable LCI versions of the E60 5-Series. With the March 2007 LCI facelift came a more powerful, more economical version of the 6-Cylinder 2.5 litre petrol engine which, when coupled with the optional and enhanced 6-speed Automatic Transmission, offered more power (+13bhp), lower emissions (-20%) and better combined fuel economy (+24%) than the pre-LCI version. The LCI facelift also included the distinctive LED optical rear lights and revised front lights and kidney grille
